High carbohydrate diets may increase the chance of getting breast and stomach cancer.
2. Heart disease
Taking high carbohydrate foods significantly increase the risk of getting heart disease. High carb foods lessen HDL which is also called the good cholesterol and boots triglycerides and VLDL very low density lipoprotein which are bad cholesterol the main risk factors for cardiovascular diseases.
3. Mild cognitive impairment
Senior citizens who tend to eat high carbohydrate foods had a risk of developing mild cognitive impairment. This is an old age situation where judgmental ability and thinking are affected and also leads to memory loss which may result in Alzheimer’s disease.

East the right carbohydrates

The simple carbohydrates present problems and the right decision would be to avoid them. Some examples of simple carbohydrates are pasta, white bread, white rice, and potatoes. Complex carbohydrates like vegetables and beans have extra fiber which reduces the impact food has on blood sugar levels.

Bad carbohydrates as we call them have a very high score on the glycemic index, an index which guides which are the foods that raises a person's blood sugar levels. The Good carbohydrates are the ones that causes subtle rise of blood sugar leading to more energy and better heart functioning like fruits and vegetables, brown and grainy breads. Low carbohydrate foods helps in weight loss and also helps to fight old age blindness.
